Build up and lead contract management processes within R&D in an ambitious biotech company

Genmab has a robust pipeline of innovative human antibody therapeutics and a number of strategic partnerships are already in place with international blue chip companies. The company is continuing its positive growth and development, striving towards its goal of improving the lives of cancer patients with unmet medical needs.

In order to build up a global Contract Management Team, Genmab is looking for an experienced Contract Manager who will be based in Copenhagen and report directly to Senior Vice President, Head of Operations R&D.

As Contract Manager at Genmab you will be a member of a newly established Contract Management Team, working globally, supporting all contract management tasks in the R&D Organization within the area of ‘Fee for Service’. This includes contract management across the Clinical Development Organization regarding CROs, CMOs, and laboratory collaborations.

The main area of responsibility is to lead the entire contracting process from initiation, creation, and maintenance of the various contracts. The Contract Manager supports the local tasks, while securing global alignment for contract management processes, including archiving and records management.

Your main tasks, among others, are to:

  • Build efficient and professional processes throughout the contract management area of responsibility
  • Continuously improve contract management across the R&D area
  • Support all lines with identifying, evaluating, and selecting a contract process
  • Negotiate, maintain, and finalize agreements and change orders with vendors
  • Report on progress; risks, resources, and critical milestones
  • Act as combining lead between vendor/contract partner and Genmab in all aspects, supporting R&D to reach goals
  • Manage vendor relationship, including dealing with escalated issues
  • Evaluate vendor performance in coorporation with operational personnel, QA and other stakeholders


Your have experience with
contract management/vendor management in the pharmaceutical industry and you have a deep knowledge of preclinical R&D and clinical development. In addition, you have a proven ability to build and maintain effective processes throughout all levels of an R&D organization and you are used to manage a wide range of stakeholders.

You have a Master’s Degree within a relevant area, e.g. Life Science, Business, Legal, or equivalent and at least 3 – 5 years of experience from a similar position in the pharmaceutical industry.

You are a person with a high level of energy and drive who is motivated by working in a fast-paced environment. You are a strong communicator with good analytical and documentation skills ensuring attention to detail and highest level of accuracy within a required timeframe. You have a hands-on mentality and you are a team player but also able to work independently. You are also solution driven and a dedicated colleague with a pragmatic business approach. Other words that describe you are organized and proactive.
