Influence and responsibility in a fast growing biotech company

As Medical Director at Zealand Pharma, you wil be responsible for creating and guiding clinical development plans for selected Zealand projects in close collaboration with project teams.

With direct report to the Vice President of Clinical Development, you will serve as sponsor’s medical expert with external requirements during the conducts of clinical trials.

Your main tasks are:

  • Providing medical and scientific input to the non-clinical and clinical development of new therapeutic compounds, mainly within peptide therapeutics
  • Building and maintaining collaborations with external medical experts and research groups to support the further development and assessment of assigned projects
  • Supporting the planning and management of clinical trials in close collaboration with Clinical Project Managers/ Clinical Trial Managers and CROs from preparation of trial synopsis to reporting
  • Writing essential parts of the documentation required to support conduct of the clinical program, the documentation required to suport conduct of the clinical program, and the documentation required for product approval by regulatory agencies

You are a Medical Doctor possibly with a PhD or Master Thesis.

You have clinical experience combined with at least 5 years of experience from drug development in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. You have a strategic and a tactical mindset and the ability to implement your plans. You have solid experience in working with external partners such as CROs, CMOs and Consultants, you have extensive knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, FDA regulations and familiarity with EMA/CHMP regulations and guidelines and other international regulatory requirements. You have in-depth knowledge of the global drug development process, and you are able to manage multiple programs with compeding and aggressive time lines, prioritize activities and work independently. You have the ability to work in a quickly changing, not fully structured internal and external environment. Experience from working in the field of diabetes is an advantage but not a requirement.

You are a person with experience from working in a matrix. You have strong oral and written communication skills. You are adaptable and good at motivating people around you. You are an excellent teamworker and you have a proven record in advancing projects.
