Senior Sales Manager

Large-scale and complex projects in an international setup

As Senior Sales Manager, you are part of the sales organisation at MHI Vestas Offshore Wind A/S. As Senior Sales Manager, you will handle long-term complex negotiations of large-scale offshore wind projects and apply your commercial talent.

Among your primary areas of responsibility:

  • Facing the customers directly as one of the central stakeholders, in close corporation with other stakeholders from the MHI Vestas Offshore Wind sales department
  • Heading negotiations and managing the relationship with the customer through the entire project process from starting the relationship, including contact and support from internal experts, to the bidding and negotiation phases to the final sign-off
  • Define the sales strategy for each project and each customer
  • In the long-term sales process, work continuously to improve standards for managing the planning, follow-up, and report progress across internal stakeholders and departments involved in the negotiation of the project sale
  • Align commercial customer requirements, risk assessment, and mitigation with all internal stakeholders
  • Secure compliance with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind’s internal processes and guidelines, and drive business improvement projects related to the tender and negotiation phase

You have a background combining commercial business knowhow and technical insight. Your educational background is most likely a Master’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration or Law combined with excellent business understanding. You could also have a background in Engineering combined with experience in contracting or legal aspects. You have at least 5 years of professional experience with complex contracts, project management and international customers. Ideally, you have experience within the offshore industry or from power plants, infrastructure, construction or similar. Additionally, experience with legal documents and procedures will be an extra plus.

You are proficient in English at a professional level, both written and spoken.

As a person, you are structured and patient, able to navigate and switch between facing large international customers in a negotiation process and translating this knowledge into a contractual context, where a high degree of detail articulating the consequences from a commercial and contractual point of view is essential.

Travelling days: 60-80 days a year in Europe.

Work place: Main office, Aarhus – but flexible in relation to residence.
