Design Manager, Gas Compression

As Design Manager, Gas Compression at Ramboll, you will join the Energy Transition department, leading the design and layout of compressor stations for PtX gas infrastructure, including transmission, storage, and distribution systems for natural and green gases, H2, and CO2. Your primary focus will be on gas compression and gas infrastructure.
With a direct report to the Global Head of Discipline, Mechanical & Plant Design, you will be part of a technical environment with 650 colleagues providing global engineering and consultancy services in the energy sector. Ramboll covers the layout, design, and execution of large onshore pipeline systems, covering all project phases from concept and feasibility studies to detailed engineering and EPC.
Your main tasks are:
- Developing and maintaining Ramboll’s knowledge of overall compressor station design for natural and green gasses.
- Supporting clients with technical recommendations for compressor station layout, incl. high-level cost and time estimates.
- Interacting with clients and stakeholders on technical solutions and layout advice to ensure robust and viable solutions for the clients.
- Becoming a mentor and technical lead on medium to large projects for compressor station design to ensure optimal and effective execution and quality.
You have comprehensive experience designing and executing compressor stations, especially in the onshore natural gas sector, covering stations, plants, and pipeline projects. Your expertise includes compression systems, metering, regulation, and liquid/vapour (L/V) station design. Additionally, you offer multidisciplinary knowledge of complex engineering solutions, including advising on the layout design of large compressor stations and compressor types suitable for Methane, CO2, and Hydrogen.
You have a Bachelor's, master’s degree, or PhD in Engineering, either Mechanical, Electrical or Processes.
You are a person with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You are attentive to detail, ensuring accuracy in piping stress analysis, layout design, and selecting appropriate compressor types. Finally, you make informed decisions and are proactive and adaptable.

Travelling: Travel activity depends on the specific project but is no more than 15 to 30 days a year.
