Finance Manager

Essential Foods, a scale-up leader in premium pet nutrition, is looking for a skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join the team at the headquarters in Gentofte. This is a newly created position, reflecting the decision to centralize and insource functions regarding accounting, controlling, reporting, and FP&A to support the ambitious growth strategy. 
 
You’ll be stepping into a role where you won’t just manage processes—you’ll help build them from the ground up. Working closely with the CFO, and as part of a passionate, entrepreneurial team, you’ll take ownership of both day-to-day financial operations and longer-term development initiatives. From hands-on tasks to strategic planning, you’ll be instrumental in shaping a scalable and efficient finance function for the future. 
 
Your Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting, controlling, reporting, and compliance
• Lead month-end closings, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Drive strategic financial planning and business analysis
• Provide financial decision support to management
• Collaborate on audit and compliance processes
• Identify and implement continuous improvements and digital tools
• Build and develop your own finance team as the department grows 

Your qualifications are 5-10 years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally combining Big Four foundations with commercial exposure in a dynamic FMCG environment. You’ve navigated complex value chains, from outsourced production and supply chains to cross-border transactions and digital commerce. 
 
You hold a master’s degree in finance or accounting, and you’re well-versed in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and digital business metrics. Bonus points if you’re curious about automation, AI, and the technologies shaping tomorrow’s finance departments. You’re analytical and detail-oriented, but also thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment where your ideas and actions make a visible difference. You are fluently communicating in both Danish and English with stakeholders at all levels.  
 
You are a person who can work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively, while also navigating a fast-paced, evolving environment.
