Department Manager

Are you motivated by building long-term customer relationships and passionate about establishing a top performing team?

 

As Department Manager in a department focusing on the future of cities in a larger consultancy company, within engineering services, you will lead around 30 dedicated and passionate engineers and planners including three team leads and be part of the management team in the division.

Your main tasks are:

  • Provide leadership to employees in an empathic and effective way  
  • Develop and grow the company’s business in Denmark and internationally  
  • Secure a strong client focus and lead strategic selling activities  
  • Set and deliver strategy and an annual business plan  
  • Develop the leadership team of the department consisting of you and three team leads  
  • Act as role model and ambassador for the company’s fundamentals  
  • Represent the business internally and externally and develop and maintain good relations with clients and partners  
  • When needed; take part in projects concerning transport/urban planning/city mobility or analysis

Furthermore, you must maintain a strategic business and market-oriented focus when securing the engagement and commitment of those stakeholders identified as being crucial to achieving the department’s business goals and/or operational deliverables.

Your qualifications are an ongoing focus on building and strengthening the pipeline through interaction with new and existing customers and partners within the public and private transport-related domain. You have a strong sales track record and has experience with negotiating and closing contracts. Further, your solid technical competencies can be applied in the different sales phases with the clients.

You have a technical educational background, e.g., Bachelor/Master of Engineering, but as important is experience from a similar role with a commercial focus. You speak and write fluently English and preferably Danish.

Travelling: Approx. 2-3 weeks per year + occasionally full days travelling within Denmark.

Domicile: Copenhagen or Aarhus.
