Exciting Discovery Project Lead position in an innovative biopharmaceutical company

Nykode Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join the Oncology team as Project leader.

As Discovery Project Lead at Nykode Therapeutics, you will have a broad area of responsibility and an opportunity for a large impact on the lives of patients with cancer.

In this role, the candidate will be the responsible project lead for innovation, research, vaccine, and novel immunotherapeutic drug development activities in the field of cancer immunotherapy.

Your main tasks are:  

• Lead a project team of scientists efficiently and responsibly
• Project development, leadership, and management, including milestones and timelines
• Initiate, plan, manage and deliver projects to advance Nykode’s drug discovery and development pipeline
• Keep up with the current technological and scientific developments in the field of cancer immunotherapy
• Keep abreast of the competitive landscape in the assigned area and related therapeutic approaches
• Be an active contributor to cross-functional project teams internally and externally
• Perform effective risk management assessments with the team and other relevant stakeholders
• Co-ordinate oncology CROs
• Hold internal/external presentations (both written and oral) to stakeholders, collaborators, and senior management
• Identification, initiation, coordination, and collaboration with external academic or commercial partners for preclinical candidate evaluation, including defining and interpreting relevant animal studies, contributing to high-quality written documentation and presentation of work to enable publications of data in peer-reviewed journals, regulatory submissions (IMPD, IB, CTA) and patent filings
• Ensure documentation of results and coordinate drafting of sections of regulatory filings, patent applications, publication of articles, etc

Your qualifications include an excellent scientific background and considerable working experience in oncology, immunology, and immunotherapy. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in discovery and early-stage product development and/or evaluation in industry or academia. You have been leading cross-functional research projects in a team and line management setting. Experienced in selecting CROs and managing CRO relationships.

You have a Ph.D. with an excellent scientific background and considerable working experience in oncology, immunology, and immunotherapy.

You are a strong collaborative team player who is enthusiastic, positive and enjoys being flexible. You are eager to work at the forefront of innovation and can adapt to changes. You have an open mindset with a focus on innovative ideas but maintain quality-conscious, structure, and accuracy.

You are proactive and able to work independently. You can prioritise and manage your time to readily tackle unforeseen circumstances. You are an excellent communicator both in writing and verbally, fluent in English (working language).
