Exciting opportunity within new area of bRo5 drugs
LEO Pharma is gradually changing the drug development strategy from developing topical products to also developing systemic products including oral drugs and biologics. In the newly established Experienced Scientist role, you will have significant impact on how to transform this into another success story for LEO Pharma.
You will be responsible for further building up a new area of bRo5 drugs (e.g. peptides) at LEO Pharma; developing first-in-class oral drugs for treatment to people suffering from autoimmune diseases.
The position will be based in one of LEO Pharma’s MedChem departments within the Drug Design area which consists of three departments; two MedChem departments and DMPK. You will interact with many internal and external stakeholders in order to realize the new platform.
Your main tasks are:
Your qualifications are several years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry working with peptide drug discovery including peptide formulation or the like. Moreover, you are an experienced drug hunter. It is important that you have a proven track record in advancing and progressing compounds through the drug discovery process and to clinical stage and know the challenges in the process. Preferably, you have experience with guiding bRo5 chemistry efforts. In addition, you must have experience with oral administration and a profound understanding of the impact on the right formulation. It is an advantage if you have experience with working with bRo5 compounds as peptides or PROTACs.
You have a Master’s Degree within organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or the like, possibly a PhD or a proven track record within the field of peptide drug discovery including formulation.
You have the desire and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across disciplines in drug discovery and with external partners. It is also important that you have good interdisciplinary team skills and the ability to inspire and motivate people with a goal oriented and flexible mind-set. Finally, you must be robust and possess a certain amount of confidence.

Travelling: Approx. 10-15 days a year to collaborators may be expected (post COVID-19).
