Exciting position in an international biotech startup within a novel therapeutic area

 

SNIPR Biome is pioneering a novel use of CRISPR/Cas technology to address human diseases. They use their technology to selectively and precisely decimate target bacteria, while leaving the rest of the microbial community intact and unharmed. Moreover, the company is well funded, which will finance the further development of the company’s pioneering CRISPR technology platform and the company’s first clinical programs.

The position as Head of Development Projects & Portfolio is a newly established position and the person will be key in building a professional project management structure and related processes at SNIPR Biome. The Head of Development Projects & Portfolio will play a critical role in driving sustainable growth by shepherding project progress and success (for multiple projects). He/she will be responsible for facilitating strategic discussions and decision-making, communicating with all relevant stakeholders across functions and with the Senior Management Team, and ensuring management and timely execution of projects.

With direct report to COO.

Your main tasks are:

  • Formulate project strategy from research candidate selection to development stage (clinical phase 3)
  • Create and take ownership of required project plans
  • Implement and monitor progress against project plans and revise as necessary
  • Responsible for appropriate issue escalation to Senior Management and/or appropriate stakeholder(s)
  • In combination with being overall project responsible, the candidate will also be responsible for building and maintaining a professional project management structure and portfolio review process.
  • Responsible for outsourcing of Pharmaceutical Development and CMC activities
  • Lead core project team including external members/participants and facilitate the team’s ability to deliver on the project
  • Ensure effective cross-functional teamwork among project team members both internally and externally
  • Proactively engage in both quality assurance and risk management activities to ensure project deliverables are met according to requirements
  • Budget responsible for assigned project(s)

Your qualifications are several years of experience with project management including defining project strategies, and you have a solid scientific background e.g. in pre-clinical or pharmaceutical development. You already have a proven track record in delivering development projects to deadline and on budget. You have a broad knowledge of the drug development process and project management processes in general combined with a demonstrated ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate staff within a matrix system. Moreover, you have a demonstrated ability to lead by example and to encourage team members to seek solutions. You are an excellent communicator with excellent planning and organizational skills and can present to staff at all levels, and you possess the ability to negotiate and liaise with CROs in a professional manner.

You have a relevant Master’s Degree, preferably a Master of Science in Pharmacy, Engineering or Chemistry or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

As a person you are comfortable with a risk-based approach to decision making and you are comfortable in a dynamic environment in which priorities and drivers can change rapidly. You have clear communication skills towards upper management, and you are an active project leader who works closely with other members of the group. You are science-driven, robust and able to stand firm while being persistent and detail-oriented without missing the big picture. Finally, you are open-minded and like to have fun although working in an “ICH-regulated environment”.

Travelling: 20 – 30 days.

Domicile: SNIPR Biome resides in an entrepreneurial office facility with a rooftop terrace and a wonderful view of Copenhagen.
