Make an impact in a fast growing biotech company

Ascendis Pharma is focused on building a leading rare disease company providing meaningful improvements in patients’ lives by developing best-in-class therapeutics addressing unmet medical needs by applying Ascendis’ TransCon technology platform.

As Supply Chain Director at Ascendis Pharma, you will manage the full end-to-end supply chain planning and order cycle for commercial products, ensuring reliable and efficient product supply. Moreover, you will establish your own function and responsibilities.

With direct report to Vice President Global Supply Chain Management.

Your main tasks are:

  • Participate in planning and executing the launch of Ascendis’ future products, taking responsibility for all supply chain related aspects
  • Describe and implement necessary SCM procedures in cooperation with relevant stakeholders
  • Manage the operational coordination with CMOs (forecasting, order placement, delivery follow-up etc.)
  • Monitor CMO performance and engage the CMOs in order to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Participate in the design and implementation of IT support systems (possibly an ERP solution) needed to manage the supply chain efficiently
  • Implement an efficient supply chain master data management process
  • Participate in the establishment and operation of an effective Sales and Operations Planning process
  • Contribute to establishing a downstream distribution network
  • Manage the operational coordination with distribution channel partners (forecasting, order fulfilment, customer service, etc.)
  • Participate in the Life Cycle Management of Ascendis’ products
  • Contribute to the strategic development of Ascendis’ supply chain(s)

Your qualifications are 5-10 years of experience from managing a pharmaceutical supply chain based, at least partly, on CMOs. You must have experience heading the end-to-end supply chain planning and order cycle and have experience with production planning. You have also worked with planning and executing pharmaceutical product launches, have knowledge about sterilization requirements, and other SCM-related regulatory aspects. You have working knowledge about pharmaceutical distribution channels (particularly US) and have experience from structured S&OP processes. You also have experience establishing a logistics/SCM function incl. establishing organization, roles and responsibilities, and procedures. You have participated in the implementation of an ERP solution for logistics (requirement specification, system selection, configuration, testing, implementation, and training), and finally, you have experience with master data management. The position does not currently include any direct reports, but the SCM function will likely need to grow in the future. As such, experience with management of staff is preferable.

You have a Master’s Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or similar.

You are a skilled planner and are very meticulous about the execution of your tasks. You plan and deliver in a highly structured way and are able of keeping an eye on the details while understanding and working within a larger framework.  You are particularly analytical, comfortable with numbers, and are capable of acting autonomously. You are capable of cooperating with multiple stakeholders in an international company, both internally and externally.

Travelling: 15-25 days/year.

Domicile: Ascendis Pharma resides in a wonderful office facility in Tuborg Havn in Hellerup with a view to the harbor, the canals, and the sea.
