Platform Scientist (Senior/Principal)

Lead lab setup for the nGen platform and drive innovation in drug discovery of oral macrocycles 

Backed by leading life sciences investors such as Novo Holdings and Forbion, Orbis is empowered to invest in groundbreaking technologies like the field-leading oral macrocycle design and development platform, nGen. Orbis Medicines operates at the intersection of science and technology, integrating cutting-edge tools like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to accelerate the drug discovery process.

With established facilities and highly skilled professionals in Lausanne, Switzerland, Orbis Medicines is establishing discovery capabilities at a new Copenhagen site. The site is expected to house a team of 15 experienced professionals, bringing the total workforce to 30, including the Lausanne site.

As Platform Scientist at Orbis Medicines, you will join the newly established team in Copenhagen, DK, and contribute to discovering and developing innovative therapeutic solutions.

With direct report to the Co-founder & CTO, you will take a driving role in the startup and equipment of the lab facilities, setting up effective workflow procedures and continuing in an active lab role.

Your main tasks include:

  • Establish the nCycle chemistry platform at the lab in Copenhagen. 
  • Synthesise macrocycle libraries using the nGen platform.
  • Optimise the chemistry platform with new methodologies and synthetic procedures.
  • Synthesise building blocks for use in macrocycle libraries.

Your qualifications include over 10 years of peptide chemistry experience and expertise in automated lab work, including software use. You have a proven track record in platform establishment—needs assessment, resource procurement, and timeline management—and in building and equipping labs. Skilled in cross-disciplinary teamwork in global settings. Advanced knowledge of tech platforms and lab setups, with expertise in implementing and validating new platforms for reliable results.

You have a PhD in chemistry/pharmaceutical science or a related field.

You are a person who is precise, independent and results-focused, with a solid commitment to quality. Motivated, proactive, and flexible team player. Adaptable to shifting priorities and resilient in overcoming challenges. Strong communication skills to foster collaboration and feedback across teams.
