Senior Chief Project Manager - Aviation

As the Senior Chief Project Manager – Aviation at Ramboll, you will report directly to the Head of Aviation. In this role, you will lead large-scale and complex international airport projects from planning and design through to execution and handover. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various geographies and disciplines, ensuring effective communication, knowledge sharing, and project delivery to the highest standards. With a strong emphasis on sustainability, you will play a key role in shaping the future of global aviation infrastructure.

Your main tasks are: 

• Manage international airside airport projects from concept to handover
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate inputs across engineering and design disciplines
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring timely, high-quality project delivery
• Prepare and facilitate client meetings and workshops
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, authorities, partners, and contractors
• Ensure designs are in compliance with ICAO, EASA, and international quality and sustainability standards
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical sparring to colleagues
• Contribute to Ramboll’s global aviation business development

You hold a degree in Civil Engineering and have over 15 years of experience in civil works projects, where substantial and proven experience from airport projects is essential. In addition, you may also have experience from road projects and other large-scale infrastructure projects. You have a proven track record as a Project Manager and/or Design Manager on complex multidisciplinary assignments. Your expertise extends to managing international projects, and you possess a solid understanding of airport operations. With strong communication and stakeholder management skills, you navigate confidently across different cultures and geographies. Additionally, you have a comprehensive knowledge of relevant design standards, with ICAO and EASA considered a decisive advantage.

You are a person with a proactive and enthusiastic mindset, capable of working independently while inspiring and motivating diverse teams. You thrive in complex international environments, effectively engaging with stakeholders. Additionally, you actively contribute to the growth of Ramboll’s aviation business by mentoring colleagues and identifying new opportunities.

Travelling: International travel is expected to occur, sometimes on short notice.
